When we rescued our dog years ago, we were astonished by his intelligence, and steadfast commitment to safeguarding our home. Imagining that someone would inflict unthinkable cruelty, within a cage, to such an amazing animal is abominable to me. Since then it has become almost a part of my routine to take late (or early) walks with him and experience the quietest moments in the city. The strange part of the night when everyone else is fast asleep preparing for their busy days, and it feels like everything around you is standing still. The smell of dew settling on anything it can around you, filling the air with that crisp morning inhale. Freshly cut grass from the day before, a scent magnified by the new dampness. Concrete, flowers, and lakeside air resonating in the darkness. A time when both he and I, are safe.

This fragrance captures a walk through a park at 3-4am in the summer/fall. New morning dew settling on flowers, fresh cut grass; tree bark and damp gravel by the lake; and the distinct smell of a Jindo’s forehead (spicy, warm, sweet).
